Wearing a Difficult Baby

First of all, I feel for you.  My baby started getting antsy in the sling about 6 weeks and it carried on until about 4 months.  This is easy to fix.  I promise.

As soon as baby has a little head control, start letting them sit up a little in the sling.  You can place them into the cradle hold, but, move the seam closer to your shoulder and put their hiney on the seam.  This will allow them to sit up slightly higher than in the basic cradle hold.

Also, 6 week old babies have discovered that they can kick and move their legs around.  Being confined in the sling is very annoying because they can't kick and move their legs around.  What I did was put 1 leg outside the sling.  This was the outside leg, not the leg next to me.  I let his little leg dangle outside and this was better, he could kick both legs and they didn't feel swaddled.  People laughed when they saw us because he would be swinging that outside leg and just be layed back enjoying the sling.

Take Comfort, this stage will not last long, and baby will have great head control and will be able to sit up in the sling.  This will take care of the fussy baby.  They just want a little freedom and room.

If you have additional questions about any of this, or if you are having trouble with your baby in the sling, email me.. and I am more than happy to help.
